1st Youth Forum of the Portuguese Biosphere Reserves

From May 28 to 31, 2025, Graciosa Island in the Azores will host the 1st Youth Forum of the Portuguese Biosphere Reserves. This event, marking the beginning of the establishment of a national network of young people connected to these territories, will focus on the role of youth in promoting actions for the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of Portugal’s Biosphere Reserves.

The Forum continues the initiative started in 2018 with the 1st IberoMAB Youth Forum in Ecuador and Peru, which inspired the creation of several similar youth networks.

Over the course of four days, a variety of thematic and working sessions will take place, running in parallel with the Islands for Sustainability meeting, in which the young participants will also be involved.
