Mountains are essential for ecosystems, acting as guardians of biodiversity and providers of resources vital to humanity. They also hold a valuable cultural heritage, comprised of monuments and traditions developed and preserved by communities settled in these regions.

Mountains for Sustainability

We will reflect on the biocultural heritage of Biosphere Reserves, focusing on their mountainous ecosystems.

This event, held as “living lab” is intended for those responsible for promoting Portuguese and cross-border Biosphere Reserves. It aims to explore characteristics and challenges of bicultural heritage and to empower participants to enhance it trough digital communication.
