Researchers, practitioners, policymakers, students, and local community representatives are invited to contribute with case studies, methodological approaches, and innovative research on Cultural Ecosystem Services (CES) and Biocultural Heritage.
This congress is part of the workshop Cultural Ecosystem Services and Biocultural Heritage: Connecting Nature and Culture for a Sustainable Future, which aims to explore how ecosystems shape cultural identities, how local knowledge fosters biodiversity, and how nature-based solutions integrate ecological resilience with cultural heritage preservation.
The workshop is divided into two parts:
- March 10 | Webinar
- May 20 & 21 | Conference at the University of Coimbra, Portugal
This event will explore the vital intersections of cultural ecosystem services and biocultural heritage, fostering collaboration between natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It is co-organized by JPI Climate, JPI Cultural Heritage, and the Centre for Functional Ecology at the University of Coimbra.
