New section on the Biosphere Reserves Portal dedicated to São Tomé Island

With the approval of the São Tomé Island Biosphere Reserve, São Tomé and Príncipe becomes the first country in the world to have its entire territory recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.


On the Biosphere Reserves Portal, you can now find a new space dedicated to São Tomé Island, showcasing this unique territory — home to 119,130 people and more than 1,300 species. Discover the island and its heritage through the eyes of its inhabitants.
